Good Service Awards
Inline with the new Area Awards Process, I would like to ensure you have a way of nominating your leaders for the Scout Association Awards for Adults, so have created a form for anyone to use.
In 2018 the Scout Association made changes to the Goods Service Awards process delegating some decision making to local level. In Cardiff and Vale, it was agreed by the Area Commissioner and District Commissioners to set up an Area Awards Panel to ensure a standard approach to awards across the Area and to support the application for higher awards in Scouting and National Awards.The panel is made up of 7 members, 1 from each District and 2 from the Area with one member of the 7 being under 25 years old. The Area Administrator supports the panel with administration of the awards. The panel meet 4 times a year in February, May, August and November.
The work of the panel is confidential and independent from the Area Management Team
This form is to be used for your nomination and then I will assess if the nominated person is eligible for any award. I will then send to the Area panel who can make decision on local delegated awards and support the application and completion of the formal form for UK level decisions.
